Link to British History Online British History Online Local industry: At its height 30,000 employees worked at the J. Lyons factory providing many bakery and icecream products from Brook Green. It was also the home of one of the UK's first commercial computers called LEO. The area shown was on the corner of Hammersmith Road and Brook Green.
